Just ahead of the nominations announcement on Thursday, ABC has unveiled new posters and promos for this year’s Academy Awards.
The theme for the 2016 Oscars, to be hosted by comedian Chris Rock on February 28, is ‘we all dream in gold.’
In addition to a poster showing Rock, 50, in a tuxedo and holding an Oscar statuette, other posters show past winners such as Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong’o, George Clooney and Ben Affleck clutching their awards, and in the case of Jamie Foxx, kissing them.

Big winners: Three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep and Ray star Jamie Foxx who won gold in 2005 are also featured
In the first of the two newly-released video clips, there are shots from some of the past year’s biggest hits and likely Oscar contenders set to a voice over by Morgan Freeman.
‘Some dream of falling in love. Others dream of galaxies far, far away. And some dream of changing the world,’ Freeman intones over clips from Creed, Trainwreck, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Martian and Steve Jobs.
‘But there is one night we all dream in gold,’ Freeman concludes as the 30 second promo ends with a Rock smiling next to a larger-than-life Oscar.
Hyping excitement: In the first of two new promos, clips from some of the past year’s top movies are shown along with images from the Academy Awards ceremony

In the second promo released Tuesday, the comedian is seen dusting his hands with chalk powder as if preparing for a sports contest.
‘Let’s do this,’ he says before walking off camera.
The voice over then describes Rock’s hosting the show as ‘a slam dunk.’

The Academy Award nominations will be announced live from the Academy Of Motion Picture, Arts And Sciences in Beverly Hills at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. Pacific on Thursday on ABC.
The names will be read by John Krasinski, Ang Lee, Guillermo Del Toro, and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs.
Rock previously hosted the Oscars back in 2005 and takes over from Neil Patrick Harris who emcee’d last year’s show which drew the lowest ratings in six years.
The 2016 telecast is being produced by David Hill and Reginald Hudlin and their goal, they told Variety, is to give the annual event a fresh feel.
‘The challenge is to make it entertaining so it doesn’t seem like a lesson, so the audience cares for people when they get onstage,’ said Hill.
Dream come true: Lupita Nyong’o, who won for 12 Years A slave, is pictured on one of the new posters
Last year’s winners for best original song Common, left, and John Legend, right, also pose with their Oscars to promote this year’s ceremony on February 28
