The crazy doughnut game has officially been one-upped in a collaboration between Doughnut Time and some of Australia’s best bakers.
In celebration of the doughnut shop’s one year anniversary, they challenged 20 of Australia’s most creative bakers to decorate Doughnut Time treats in the most delicious way possible.
Photos of all of the creations have been shared on Instagram under the hashtag #DTproject and ensured many people were drooling over their screens.

One of the most colourful creations was by Elisa Pietrantonio who said she based it on a ‘birthday checklist’ of spinkles, popcorn and candy.
The bright purple doughnut features stacked with popcorn and strawberry Persian fairy floss, covered in a bubblegum glaze, sprinkles and gold leaf.
It’s topped with vanilla unicorn buttercream, more sprinkles and popcorn, chupa chups, chocolate bark, strawberry sour strips and finished with an edible glitter syringe.

Eat me: A banoffee pie doughnut by Whipped Cake Co is topped with banana, toffee and chocolate
Sydney Bakery Strawberries and Co created six doughnuts inspired by Arnotts ‘Tic Toc’ biscuits, which are shaped like clocks and dubbed it the Timeless collection.
Other bakers, like Whipped Cake Co and Elisa Pietrantonio, decided to also do spins on Australian culinary icons. Whipped Cake Co created a pavlova doughnut that topped with vanilla bean cream and fresh berries.
Pietrantonio created a lamington doughnut that was filled with strawberry jam and fresh cream, covered in chocolate and coconut, and then topped with more cream, coconut chips, freeze dried raspberries and gold leaf meringues.

Alisha Henderson from Sweet Bakes made her doughnuts looks like a dessert in a fine dining restaurant with her Black Forest inspired concoction.
Jade from Ivy and Stone Cake Design created three stuffed and dripping doughnuts which she said was inspired by her three favourite desserts: honeycomb, affogato and sticky date pudding.
The project has proven popular on social media, with some photos of the doughnut creations gaining more than 4,000 likes and many of ‘oh my god’ comments.
