For one challenge Mrs Cameron had to make a sports trophy made from cake, for which she made a Surf’s Up cake inspired by the Camerons’ trips to Cornwall
Her signature vol-au-vents, stuffed with crab and shrimp curry, are called ‘perfect’ by judge Paul Hollywood.
Mrs Cameron – who competes against ex-England goalie David James, comedian Jason Manford and EastEnders star Maddy Hill – also had to make a choux pastry and cream dessert and a sports trophy made from cake, for which she made a Surf’s Up cake inspired by the Camerons’ trips to Cornwall.
As she takes the tent by storm, Mrs Cameron reveals husband David is an ‘enthusiastic’ cook but ‘has not mastered clearing up as you go along’.
She said: ‘At home I am quite good at washing up as I go along, unlike my husband, who is an enthusiastic and good cook but has not mastered the clearing up as you go along.’

Despite being former creative director of stationers Smythston of Bond Street, she was visibly nervous during the show, and said the challenges were ‘not very easy’.
But when she continued to get praise for her creations, she joked: ‘They’ll be employing me in the Downing Street kitchen.’
