Nation’s sweetheart Kate Winslet made a dazzling first impression in a cobalt blue gown that hugged her every curve and showed off her toned arms in an intricate halterneck neckline.
A daring thigh slit showed off a subtle hint of the 40-year-old’s toned pins, whilst she styled her hair in a chic side swept up-do in a nod to the twenties style.

The blonde beauty has been nominated for a prestigious Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe award for role as Anna Bates in the BBC drama.

Speaking ahead of the awards at the BAFTA Los Angeles annual tea party on Saturday she admitted that she had now moved to America to pursue opportunities in Hollywood.

Speaking exclusively to The Daily Mail she admitted that her and her husband, James Cannon, a computer software executive, were currently living in a hotel after renting out their house in the UK.
‘We’ve taken the plunge and done it. Last Tuesday we rented out our house for six months, boarded a flight to Los Angeles and here we are,’ she said.
‘We’re actually homeless. We’re living in a hotel until we can find ourselves somewhere to rent out here. We have some feelers out and we’re assembling a list of places to view.
‘I have no jobs lined up in Hollywood but there are so many opportunities to be had. We’re going to have a little bit of a break first and then plunge right in and see what’s out there.
‘I won’t be here forever. My home is in England. I just want to see what happens.’

One big name who won’t be in attendance at the awards, is Idris Elba, who had to pull out due to injury.
The British actor – who is nominated for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series for his role in ‘Luther’, and for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for ‘Beasts of No Nation’ – was advised against flying to Los Angeles after injuring his back.
Idris’ representative told Entertainment Tonight: ‘On doctor’s orders [he] cannot get on a plane to attend the Golden Globes.’
While Idris, 43, won’t be at Sunday’s (10.01.16), Harrison Ford is a late addition to the line-up of presenters.
Just hours before the ceremony, a message on the Golden Globes’ official Instagram read: “BREAKING! EXCLUSIVE! Harrison Ford will be presenting at tonight’s #GoldenGlobes (sic).”
