While Olivia Sturgiss has shared a striking resemblance with Taylor Swift for quite some time, it wasn’t until she met the singer at her Melbourne concert in December that she became an online sensation in her own right.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the 19-year-old New South Wales resident admits she is recognised almost anywhere she goes, and being stopped by strangers is an aspect of her new-found fame she has learnt to deal with.
‘As pretentious as that totally sound, it’s sort of something that I deal with now,’ Olivia told DMA, before explaining there are some days she ‘really can’t be bothered to have people take photos of me’, and therefore she dresses down accordingly.

Twins? Australian Taylor Swift fan, 19-year-old New South Wales resident Olivia Sturgiss (L), has managed to attract plenty of attention due to her uncanny resemblance to the 26-year-old singer
‘If I can’t be bothered to deal with that, I sort of dress down, tie my hair up, and I’ll try and wear flats and jeans,’ she explained.
Olivia, who uses the hashtag ‘#NoItsLiv’ with her Instagram photos to distinguish herself from the singing superstar, has also generated quite the social media following.
Sporting Taylor’s signature red lipstick and winged eyeliner in many of her snaps, she attracts thousands of ‘likes’ on her images, with almost 50,000 fans now following her on Instagram itself.
And it’s not just other eager Swift fans who have taken notice of the Australian teenager, with Olivia revealing she has been approached by modelling scouts, and is in negotiations with a digital agency.
Meeting the star: It wasn’t until she and pal Kristy Lee met the singer at her Melbourne concert in December that Olivia became an online sensation in her own right
‘I’m sort of in the process of sending them my digitals and getting a response and that sort of thing,’ Olivia revealed, though her new Youtube account is an obvious first step she has taken to continue capitalising on her doppleganger status.
While she is yet to upload any videos to her channel, the blonde beauty says her content will vary with a mixture of makeup tutorials, video blogs and question and answer clips.
And of course singing, will perhaps be thrown into the mix.
‘I’m thinking about maybe doing some covers. I’m not sure if I’ll do Taylor songs or not because I’m sort of scared of the harsh comparison between us,’ she said.

Meanwhile singing is not even the only aspect of showbusiness that Olivia would like to pursue, revealing acting is another area of interest.
‘Hopefully the big screen, that would be a dream come true,’ she reflected on her dream of making it to Hollywood in five years’ time.
‘I’d love to go to America and really pursue it but I really want to learn the craft. I really want to learn as much about it as possible and possibly do a course in it,’ she added.

While Olivia has arguably become an overnight sensation thanks to her resemblance to the Grammy award winner, she is still currently working at department store Target.
‘I still work at Target. I’m still a checkout chick. People still complain to me about their faulty items,’ she laughed.
‘At the moment I’ve sort of got that doubt where I’m like “You know it’s not going to go anywhere too far so keep your day job Liv”,’ she confessed.
‘For the moment I’ll try and stay with my day job but definitely if it took off, I’d be like why not.’
