But seven-year-old Cruz Hewitt took a lesson from his father Lleyton on Wednesday as the 34-year-old defeated Spaniard Fernando Verdasco in straight sets.
At the World Tennis Challenge in Adelaide, the former world number one player received a standing ovation from the hometown crowd at Memorial Drive, which is where he got his start back in 1998.
