In My Kitchen Rules’ first group, it was cocky Melbourne lawyer Zana who dominated the show with her high-maintenance attitude and constant boasting about her culinary skills.
And now that group two has been unveiled, it appears that the health-conscious Jessica has taken Zana’s place as the reality show’s most controversial contestant.
In addition to clashing with her fellow contestants over her strict diet, the curt blonde also had an awkward confrontation with MKR judge Manu Feildel after implying that his lifestyle was unhealthy on Sunday night’s episode of the series.
Ice queen: Health fanatic Jessica threw some serious shade at Manu Feildel on Sunday night’s episode of MKR
The drama started when everybody started questioning Jessica over her eating habits after she expressed her dislike of chocolate and carbs, with Aussie battler Nev asking what she will serve up when it’s her turn in the kitchen.
‘I eat really healthy. I know that everyone else doesn’t eat very healthy and I’ll cater to everyone,’ she said, sending everyone’s jaws to the floor.
Manu then jumped in, stating: ‘What’s healthy to you and what’s healthy to me is different.’
Get off her back: The guests at the table couldn’t get over Jessica’s strict diet, with Nev asking the curt beauty what kind of food she plans to serve when it’s her turn to cook
‘Ï eat really healthy. I know that everyone else doesn’t eat very healthy and I’ll cater to everyone,’ said Jessica
‘Whoa whoa whoa whoa!’ Cleaner Kell appeared extremely offended by Jessica’s implication that the rest of the diners don’t eat healthily
‘What’s healthy to you and what’s healthy to me is different’: Even Manu got involved in the discussion
Jessica, quick to respond, then explained: ‘I think my definition of healthy is extreme and I don’t expect everyone to live my lifestyle.’
Manu retorted that his idea of healthy is food full of flavour and that, like Jessica, he’ll also go for a run after eating – a statement met with a bemused look of disbelief by Jessica.
Shocked by her brazen reaction, Manu asked: ‘What is that supposed to mean?’ to which Jessica simply shrugged and offered a sly half-smile.
Defending himself: Manu said that like Jessica, he also goes for a run after eating an indulgent meal
Really? After Manu’s claim that he runs the day after eating, Jessica shot him a bemused look of disbelief
‘What is that supposed to mean?’ a shocked Manu responded after seeing Jessica’s shady stare
Hehe: Instead of explaining herself, Jessica just offered a cheeky half-smile
Despite the drama and the fact that the food wasn’t quite appropriate for Jessica’s no carb, no sugar, all natural diet, the outspoken Melbournian put her personal requirements aside and gave Italian twosome Luciano and Martino a high score.
She and partner Marcos gave the pair a generous nine out of ten, while the rest of the contestants settled for an eight.
‘Why would I take points off for a dusting of icing sugar?’ she said to Marcos after being accused earlier in the night by Alex of deducting points due to her personal diet.
Happy ending: Despite the drama, the night finished off well with Luciano and Martino receiving an impressive nine out of ten from Jessica and partner Marcos
