Six months pregnant with her second child, plus-size model Tess Holliday admitted on Instagram this week that it’s a very different experience this time around.
The 30-year-old already has a ten-year-old son name Rylee from a previous relationship, but she admitted that she ‘didn’t love herself entirely’ when she was pregnant the first time.
Now expecting her second, with her fiancé Nick Holliday, Tess is totally embracing her tummy — and showing it off in a revealing picture in which she’s wearing just lace underwear and a T-shirt.

Showing off: Plus-size model Tess Holliday posted a picture of her baby bump on Instagram
Wow! She explained that she is embracing her changing body more this time around, and seeing it constantly reminds her of how incredible her body is
In the photo, Tess is on her side, her belly bare under a hiked-up tee.
‘Every time I look at my tummy, I’m reminded at how amazing my body is,’ she wrote in the picture’s caption. ‘Even though I’ve had a baby before, I didn’t love myself entirely. So now every kick, every pain, is incredible to me.
She touched on the fact that she faces plenty of mean comments from strangers on the internet, explaining how she’s learned by now not to let them get her down.
‘I get constantly shamed and criticized for existing in this body, but the problem isn’t my size, it’s others inability to comprehend that beauty doesn’t come prepackaged in one size,’ she said. ‘I’m embracing my stomach getting bigger, stretch marks, and loving this little life I’m growing.’
Thirty-four thousand of her followers clearly embraced it too, liking the picture and leaving words of support.
‘I’m so excited for you! All kinds of magical wonders are waiting for you and your family!’ wrote one. Another left the message: ‘You’re gorgeous. Pregnancy suits you.’
Only a few raised questions about the snap, with one fan asking whether it had been Photoshopped — which Tess quickly shot down.
‘I changed it [to] black & white that’s it.. Why would I photoshop my baby bump photo?! [sic]’ she wrote.
Baring all: The 30-year-old, who is currently six months pregnant with her second child, shared images of herself posing poolside in a cutaway swimsuit in Palm Springs earlier this week
Accessorizing: Tess completed her swimsuit look with a shiny headscarf tied into a bow, large sunglasses, and bamboo hoop earrings
Not bothered: Tess also shared this image that an online troll she said had created ‘trying to offend me’, but the only thing about it that bother her was that ‘McDonald’s sucks’
Tess has been a big proponent for body positivity for years, but has stepped up her message since announcing her pregnancy.
Earlier this week, she hit out at body shamersby proudly showing off an offensive Photoshop image created by a critic, which she followed up with a picture of herself in a revealing bathing suit.
The model was wearing the blue monokini in Plam Springs, Florida, topping it with a leopard-print cover-up that was clearly meant more for fashion purposes than hiding her body.
‘Finally got to wear my vintage wrap made by a Versacé,’ she wrote. ‘Pregnancy glam because I can.’
She accessorized the ensemble with a shiny headscarf tied into a neat bow, a pair of large, round shades, and a set of hoop earrings.
Prior to posting the posed shot, Tess shared an image that appeared to show her face Photoshopped onto the body of Disney villain Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
Next to the tentacled body in the image is a cartoon thought bubble full of burgers, fries, chicken nuggets and soda from McDonald’s.
Looking glam: Tess wrote that ‘Ursula is amazing’ and fired back at her troll with a sarcastic: ‘Nice try’
Stretching out: Tess recently shared a picture of herself in the gym wearing a Hogwarts T-shirt in North Hollywood
But as with the scores of other cruel taunts that have been ushered her way, Tess brushed it off.
‘Some internet troll made this trying to offend me I guess, but the only thing I’m mad at is McDonald’s sucks,’ she wrote as she shared the image.
‘In & Out is clearly better. Also, #Ursula is amazing. Nice try tho,’ she added.
The size-22 model has deflected many an insult during her time in the limelight, but most recently has faced criticism over the way her pregnant body looks.
Many have accused her of putting her unborn baby at risk of health complications that some believe could be caused by her weight.
However, to prove that she is remaining active and in shape, she has also uploaded pictures and video of herself working out at a gym in North Hollywood.
Breaking a sweat:: Tess shows her flexibility in a video of her stretching as part of a workout which she says has been specially created for her ‘growing tummy’
The images show Tess doing leg swings and stretches while wearing a Hogwarts T-shirt, but in the captions of the photos, she emphasized that her posting them was ‘not about proving anything or trying to lose weight’.
‘Post workout stretches w/ my amazing trainer…I stay active for me, and only me. It’s not about proving anything or trying to lose weight, it’s about what makes ME happy!’ she said.
She also told fans that her workouts have been designed by her trainer specifically for her ‘growing tummy’.
‘Our society is so ingrained to think that all bodies (especially bigger ones) shouldn’t be respected and appreciated, it’s heartbreaking,’ she added.
Tess went on to say that all women ‘deserve to be treated with dignity’ no matter what their size, gender, sexual orientation race or ability is.
Hanging poolside: Tess posted this bikini shot just weeks after she announced she was expecting baby number two
Taking the heat: Tess has been experiencing a large amount of criticism after becoming pregnant at size 22
Expecting: While Tess already has a ten-year-old son Riley, this this will be her first with fiancé Nick Holliday, whose name she has already adopted
‘When people criticize or belittle us it says more about them than us, remember that,’ she said. ‘Don’t let anyone dull your shine or underestimate what you are capable of.’
As with most of her posts, she ended it with her signature hashtag #Fyourbeautystandards.
The baby Tess is currently expecting will be her second after giving birth to her ten-year-old son Rylee when she was 20 years old.
Tess has previously said that her pregnancy — her first child with fiancé Nick Holliday — was ‘definitely not planned’ but that now she is excited.
