Eighties singer Vanity has died in hospital aged 57.
The former singer and actress had been battling sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis – an inflammation of her small intestines.
Vanity died on Monday in Fremont, California, family sources told TMZ.

They found fame in the late 80s with their hit Nasty Girl, which was produced by Prince.
Vanity was handpicked by Prince to front the threesome, which he put together after watching Barbra Streisand’s A Star Is Born.
The two later dated. But after touring with Prince in 1999 Vanity quit the band, signed with Motown records, then started a new career as an actress with leading roles in The Last Dragon and Action Jackson.

Vanity suffered from a string of health problems, stemming from a crack cocaine overdose in 1994 that left her kidneys so damaged that she required regular dialysis.
