Though many eyes were on her beautiful family in the front row, the designer’s new Fall 2016 Collection showed off her skill for creating silhouettes and subtle asymmetry with a series of stunning dresses and coats in dynamic stripe and check patterns.
The show, which was staged in the stunning hall at 25 Cipriani Broadway, focused on raw, long hemlines and cutaway bustiers with sweetheart necklines.
Making an entrance: Victoria Beckham’s latest Fall 2016 Collection made it’s debut at New York Fashion Week on Sunday morning
On the catwalk: The show, which was held at 25 Cipriani Broadway, showed off the designer’s flair for stunning silhouettes and subtle asymmetry
Each of the models wore a set of buckled shoes or boots, and some sported ribbed leggings under their baggy coats.
Dark colors dominated the looks beyond a few pops of a still-toned-down orange, with black, blue, green and burgundy coming out on top.
Midi length seems to be the designer’s fall look of choice, including asymmetric hems, bubble skirts and over-sized jackets in bold patterns.
Many of the pieces bore a stripe or check design created with waving lines, which were made to switch direction over alternating panels to create a fluid moving look.
Catching the eye: Many of the pieces in the collection feature a fabric with waving lines that are alternatively used to show stripes or checks
Straight up: Aside from the wavy-lines patterns, their were also plenty of clean stripes and plaid patterns
Another side of things: Diamond patterns also appeared, alongside strategic cutaways and frequent use of buckles – on both the outfits and the shoes
Peekaboo: The plaid pieces boasted raw hemlines, while many pieces also featured small slits and cutaways exposing the models’ midriff
Though the collection is generally quite a fresh offering from the former Spice Girl, she showed plenty of her former passions through the influence of corsetry on the line.
‘I wanted to find a new cool, fresh way of wearing it again, making it more daywear, more modern,’ she told Vogue.
She did so by making bustiers that are softer, more casual and often accented by slits or strips revealing skin beneath on models’ midriffs.
Letting loose: Baggy coats and bubble skirts add a variety of interesting silhouettes to the collection
Shoulder baring: Strapless tops and dresses with sweetheart necklines were another trend in the collection
Peeping out: At the end of the show, the woman of the hour popped out in a casual ensemble of a cream sweater and charcoal pants
All smiles: Victoria’s husband David beamed with pride up in the front row in the show alongside their four children, Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 10 and Harper, four
Along the front row was, of course, the designer’s beautiful family, including husband David Beckham, 40, and sons Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 13, and Cruz, 10.
All the boys lived up to the Beckhams’ stylish reputation in a variety of dressed up and down ensembles.
Little four-year-old Harper stole the attention though, with her blonde hair in long braids and sitting on dad’s lap as she watched the proceedings in a tailored coat with gold buttons and adorable little Gucci Loafers.
