While most people would prefer to see cockroaches wither and die, a video has caught a West Australian woman giving one a drink.
The 20-second video – tagged ‘bugs have feelings too’ – shows the insect drinking from a wet paintbrush.
The woman in the video can be heard saying: ‘It’s that hot today [that] my little friend actually comes down and drinks the water off it.’
After posting the footage to LiveLeaks, she said the ‘little guy’ seemed to be struggling in the extreme heat.

West Australia has suffered through heatwave conditions for parts of summer.
Perth has recently experienced a heatwave on par with the longest run of days above 39C on record.
Extreme weather has seen Australians across the country treated for heat-related issues this summer, and animals have struggled too.
The kindly West Australian that posted the video said normally she hated bugs. But clearly the heat was enough for her to make an exception.
‘[I] felt so bad for this little guy….only in Australia [sic],’ she said.
